2009-08-23 -Seaside hosts series of Community Meetings in Cape Breton

Sydney, Nova Scotia -- August 23, 2009 

Seaside High-Speed Internet, a partner in the Broadband for Rural Nova Scotia Initiative, invites all Television Stations to attend our upcoming community meetings. 

Throughout the nine counties assigned to us in November, 2008, Seaside is working to complete construction of our 2,800 sq. km. network. As work progresses, we continue to roll out high-speed internet to rural Nova Scotians. 

We have scheduled six public meetings (listed below) to announce the inauguration of service in various parts of Cape Breton Island. We have gone to great effort to inform each community of their time and place. 

Most notably we have a community announcement being hosted at the Glenora Distillery this Friday August 28th. This meeting is unique in that it will include a live demonstration of the service, as well as host nearly 80 people for community service announcement. Seaside was able to ensure the delivery of High-Speed Internet to this popular international destination just in time for a conference of international geologists who required the service in order to maintain the week long booking. Seaside was happy to oblige and takes pride in our ability to help business in rural Nova Scotia.

These meetings will give residents of the communities we are working to serve a chance to ask questions about our service we offer and, most importantly, when it will arrive in their area. 

These meetings will give us a chance to announce service to those in attendance. They will be a terrific platform to celebrate this provincial program. 

We invite you, as members of the television media, to attend and participate. 

Listed below are the 6 meetings we have scheduled to announce new service to more than 100 Cape Breton Island communities. 

More meetings will follow in September/ October.
