Seaside in the news
2009-09-12 -Cape Breton Post - Thumbs up for Seaside High-Speed!
Letter to the Editor
The Cape Breton Post
I’d like to give a big thumbs-up to the team at Seaside High-Speed. I have lived in dial-up country now for almost six years. We thought there was no hope for high-speed Internet. It was looking pretty bleak, and then we got the word that Seaside high-speed was on its way.
Finally I would be able to update our farm website without having to stay connected overnight, and to send pictures to my brother in Toronto and my sister in Victoria without wanting to throw the computer out the window. The kids could use Facebook and MSN without the phone interrupting every 15 minutes. The news made us very happy.
When the Seaside high-speed team said they were committed to having everyone up and running before the end of the year, they meant it. I am online as of Sept. 3.
I want to thank Edie, who went the extra mile to help me reschedule my appointment for installation; Adam, whom I met at the community meeting and who reassured me that I would be online even though I worried that the trees surrounding our house would impede the signal; Dave and Enrique, who installed us in jig time; and, last but not least, the very patient Jarrod, whom I called about a hundred times the first night getting things configured and e-mails set up.
I know they have thousands of customers but when I call I feel as though I am the most important one, and that’s the local business difference. So I am off to send many large e-mails — because I can.
