Your privacy is important to us at Seaside Wireless Communications Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "we" or "us" in this policy).
 
The purpose of this policy is to tell you what personal information we collect about you, how we use it, whether we disclose it to anybody else, how long we keep it, how we safeguard it, and how you can request access to your personal information that we have on file. Personal information means any information about you personally, except that personal information does not include the name, business title, business address, business e-mail address, business telephone number or business facsimile number of an employee of an organization. Personal information also does not include your home address or telephone number if these are published in a publicly available telephone directory or are obtainable from 411.
 
This Policy does not govern our handling of personal information about our employees, which is subject to other Seaside policies.
 

Accountability:

Seaside Wireless Communications is responsible for the personal information under our control and we have designated a Privacy Officer as the person responsible for ensuring that Seaside Wireless Communications complies with applicable law.

 
What personal information do we collect?

When you request a cable or internet connection we require certain information in order to connect your residence to our system. As well we need information in order to facilitate you paying your account.

 
You will be asked to provide:

  • Your name, street address and telephone number
  • E-mail address and facsimile number
  • Your place of employment
  • Your driver’s license number or other piece of photo identification
  • Your social insurance number
  • Financial (the name of your bank or financial institution)
  • Credit card information in order to make payments on your account
  • The name of your spouse or co-head of household

 
While the provision of your Social Insurance Number is optional, you should be aware that most Credit Reporting Agencies use the Social Insurance Number as a unique identifier to ensure proper identification when conducting credit reviews and preparing credit reports.
 

How do we use and disclose your personal information?

Your personal information will only be used and disclosed by us as required to provide our services, including to determine the location of your house in order to facilitate connections and disconnections, service calls, to obtain a credit report for a monthly payment, to provide you with a reminder if your account is not in good standing, to obtain payment and to provide you with occasional updates and information regarding products and services that we at Seaside have to offer and which we think will be of interest to you. We may also provide your information to another company or business, in the event of the proposed or actual transfer of all or part of Seaside to that company or business, but for this purpose we shall not authorize any use of your personal information beyond the scope of any such transaction or this Policy.
 
Please be advised that we do not share your personal information with others and we do not add your name or address to mailing lists other than as permitted by this Policy.
 

You can request access to your personal information:

You have a right to access the personal information which we have about you. You have the right to request that the personal information which you believe to be inaccurate be corrected. If you wish to access your personal information you should contact our Privacy Officer who will be pleased to assist you.
 

What can you do if you want to limit how we use your personal information?

Most of the personal information which we collect is necessary for us to provide you with cable or internet service and we cannot do this without that personal information. If you do not want us to use or disclose your personal information in a particular way, please contact our Privacy Officer as described above and we will be pleased to discuss with you how we can limit collection, use or disclosure of your personal information. Restrictions on our use and disclosure of your personal information may limit or prevent our provision of services to you.
 

The security of your personal information is important to us:

Your personal information is used by us only for the purposes identified above and access to your personal information is limited to those employees and affiliated companies of Seaside Wireless Communications who need to access it for the purpose of delivery of services to you.
 

How long do we keep your personal information?

Your information is entered and stored on a secure confidential data-base. We retain your personal information as long as you are a customer of Seaside Communications. If there are legal requirements relating to the period of time which we must retain your personal information, we will comply with those requirements.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns about this Privacy Policy or about the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information by Seaside Communications please contact our Privacy Officer by phone, email, fax or in person. We will then try to address your concerns.
